About the Roland TR-707

The Roland TR-707 Rhythm Composer drum machine, released by Roland Corporation in 1985, has 15 digitally sampled 8 bits sounds, and 10-voice polyphony. The alternate bass drum, snare, and hi-hat sounds cannot be triggered simultaneously. The TR-707 sounds are samples of actual acoustic instruments, not synthesized like the instruments on the TR-808. The TR-707 was popular in early house music, particularly with acid house.

Popularity

The Roland TR-707, along with many other drum machines from the 80s, are becoming more popular today, due to the increase in 'SynthWave' music production. (Example Echo Shore - Midnight Runner)

About This Roland TR-707 Sample Collection

The main aim of this sample collection is to provide you, the end use, with a selection of samples, from the classic Roland TR-707.
This can be helpful if, for example, you are interested in purchasing a second hand Roland TR-707, but want to preview the sounds before buying. This is a small collection of samples, due to the limited amount of samples found on the TR-707.

The full set of sounds are split into 3 folders. These are "16 Bit", "24 Bit" and "32 Bit". No effects have been applied to the samples. All samples are in WAV file format and supplied in a rar archive.
